The OEM N55 MAP sensor runs out of range around 2.5–3.0 bar absolute, so on a Stage 2 build it clips and the ECU loses accurate boost reference. The BMS 3.5 bar TMAP sensor extends the range to 3.5 bar absolute, keeping closed-loop boost control accurate across the band. IMPORTANT: there's a connector split on the F10 — 2013–2016 cars (Type B) take the genuine BMW sensor directly (this $110 option); 2011–2012 cars (Type A) require the BMS plug-and-play adapter as well (the full kit, ~$139). Confirm your connector before ordering.
