The OEM N55 MAP sensor is rated to approximately 2.5–3.0 bar absolute, which is adequate for stock boost. On a Stage 2 build pushing 25–30 PSI, the sensor clips — and the ECU loses accurate boost reference. The 3.5 bar TMAP (temperature and manifold absolute pressure) sensor extends the reading range to 3.5 bar absolute, keeping the ECU's closed-loop boost control accurate across the entire power band. Required for Stage 2 maps on MHD.
