On a stock-tune N55 the OEM spark plugs are adequate, but the moment you raise boost or switch to E-fuel, they become the limiting factor for ignition energy. The NGK one-step-colder iridium plugs run with a tighter gap (0.022") to resist fouling and misfiring under high cylinder pressure. This is the single most important prerequisite before any tune — recommended by MHD, JB4, and every major N55 tuner. A set of 6 covers all cylinders.
